Urban Design Plan
As a result of a recommendation from the Southlake 2025 Plan, Southlake completed a detailed urban design study in February 2008, including a median plan for FM 1709 and FM 1938. The scope of the urban design study includes the city's three main roadway corridors: FM 1709 (Southlake Boulevard), FM 1938 (Davis/Randol Mill) and SH 114. The study also includes recommendations for the locations and design criteria for raised landscaped medians with left turn lanes along FM 1709 (Southlake Boulevard) and FM 1938 (Davis Boulevard). The primary goals of the study are to foster a unique and attractive character for Southlake, to create opportunities for new public places, to enhance the visual quality of developments and scenic areas, and to identify resources to support implementation.
