Parks, Recreation & Open Space / Community Facilities
Welcome to the Parks, Recreation & Open Space / Community Facilities web page of the Southlake 2030 Comprehensive Plan that was adopted by the Southlake City Council on March 19, 2013. This web page is dedicated to provide information on the Parks, Recreation & Open Space / Community Facilities Master Plan.

Parks, Recreation & Open Space / Community Facilities Master Plan
The purpose of the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan / Community Facilities is two fold: one, to implement the Southlake 2030 Plan recommendations for parks, recreation and open space  and community facilities by better integrating parks planning with the land use and mobility elements and two, to respond to the needs expressed by Southlake citizens in their desires for leisure services and community facilities.

Document, Presentation and Exhibits

A copy of the adopted Southlake 2030: Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Community Facilities Master Plan can be found below.

On Monday, January 31, 2013, the City of Southlake Community Services Department hosted a city-wide SPIN meeting and open house to obtain feedback on the Southlake 2030 Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Community Facilities Master Plan. The video presentation and overview of this master plan from city staff at this meeting can be located HERE.

One of the most important aspects of the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan  are the changes to the individual park concept plans. Anyone interested about future park development along with the Parks & Recreation Board, Southlake Parks Development Corporation, Planning & Zoning Commission, City Council and City Staff will rely directly on these plans for guidance. This makes the concept plans a critical part of the plan document and necessary of careful consideration when evaluating park improvements. It should be noted however that these plans are guidelines, and are subject to changing conditions and evolution. The actual development of the park may differ from the concept plans when presented to the City's boards and commissions. The following parks have concept plans associated with them.

Bicentennial Park  Haven Park  Noble Oaks Park
Bob Jones Park  Johnson Place Park  North Park
Chesapeake Park  Kirkwood-Sabre Linear Park  Oake Pointe Park
The Cliffs Park  Koalaty Park  Royal & Annie Smith Park
Coker Hike & Bike Park  Liberty Park at Sheltonwood  Southlake Sports Complex
 Gateway Park  Lonesome Dove Park
