Bearcats Basketball Teams Hit the Road This Weekend
Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams play away this weekend. The women play in Akron in the Akron Invitational tomorrow evening. The men are at Notre Dame tomorrow night and at Providence Monday night.
Kicking off the weekend will be the women’s 6 PM contest against the Akron Zips. Then on Saturday BU meets Delaware State at 1 PM. The Bearcats won their first game under Coach Linda Cimino with an 83-60 victory over Mansfield State last Friday.
The men play two prominent teams in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. Tomorrow night at 9 PM BU faces the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. It’s the first time the two have met on the basketball court. Then on Monday the Bearcats travel to Providence to face the defending Big East Champions. BU played in Providence in 2001 when the Friars were ranked 25th in the nation. Providence won that game 119-58.
All games will be aired on News Radio 1290 WNBF. Airtime is 15 minutes before tip-off.
