Binghamton High School students Julia Guy and Natalie DeBoer make a stop to the weekly local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up to talk about the preparations for this year’s annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

On the program, airing November 15, the young ladies also talk about their experiences volunteering and the free dinner.

The meal is open to anyone regardless of social or economic position and serves as a chance to socialize as a community.

The dinner is held at the high school November 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Shuttle buses operated by First Student will run continually during the dinner to get people to the school.

Shuttle #1 departs starting at 11 a.m. at Franklin Elementary School on Conklin Avenue and at 11:15 from North Shore Towers on Isbell Street.

Shuttle #2 is staging at the same times at the Greater Binghamton Transportation Hub on Chenango Street and at the First Ward Senior Center on Clinton Street.

Toys and Books are being collected to be given to children at the dinner.  Donations can be dropped off at the high school.

Checks can be sent to help pay for the dinner.  Checks should be made out to BHS Thanksgiving Dinner, 31 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905, Attn: BHS Honor Society.

Southern Tier Close Up airs Saturdays at 12:10 p.m. on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
