Map: Ammonium nitrate storage facilities in Texas

Worried that your home, school or church might be near a facility containing potentially explosive materials?

Use this map to examine the locations of 74 facilities in Texas that The Dallas Morning News identified as having at least 10,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate or ammonium nitrate-based explosive material.

The News analysis is based on information that companies reported to the state about their 2012 chemical inventories. Using Census date, the paper calculated how many people live within one-quarter, one-half and one mile of each site.

Click on the color-coded circles to see the name and address of each facility. In cases where the same address was given for more than one reporting site, dots have been moved slightly so they are visible. Read our methodology for more details.
