The North American Research Partnership is an independent, non-profit network of analysts throughout North America that conduct strategic applied research and outreach on how the United States, Mexico and Canada can better position themselves for success in the 21st century. The Partnership works on a broad range of interrelated international policy topics such as trade and competitiveness, energy, sustainability, security, and education/awareness/development. The U.S.-Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership in San Diego, California serves as our fiscal agent.
Analyzing the Rise and Impact of Global North America
This focus on North America at this time is critically important, because the quality of relations among the United States, Mexico and Canada will hold the key to our three nations’ shared success in the global economy in the coming decades. This will allow us to better adapt to the rise of Asia. The specific timing for launching the Partnership couldn’t be more critical following historic elections in the United States and Mexico, a resurgent North American energy market, continuing demographic shifts, our slow emergence from the Great Recession and ongoing negotiations over the proposed Trans Pacific Partnership multi-nation trade agreement.
Taking an Applied Approach to Crossborder Issues in North America
The Partnership’s approach emphasizes highly applied and substantive research on a broad range of topics, including trade and competitiveness, energy and sustainability, security, quality of life, and education policy. The Partnership organizes its work through strategic policy events, working papers, technical evaluations, and ongoing outreach to the principal stakeholders and influencers in public and private sectors as well as the news media.
