Before you just go out and buy a house, you need to know which is going to offer up the very best features for your particular needs. From top notch school systems to shopping, there is always a neighborhood that is going to work better for you than someone else. Regardless of what you are looking for though, these are the top five beach neighborhoods to buy a home in West Palm Beach.


Flamingo Park

If you are looking for an older style home that really showcases beautiful originality, Flamingo Park is the way to go. The majority of the houses were constructed around the 1920s and have a very Mediterranean feel and design to them. Some of the other houses in the neighborhood came about between the 60s and 70s, so there is a  nice stucco bungalow look to them. This way, there are several different looks and designs to the houses you might like. Almost all of the streets in the area feature trees lined throughout, so there is plenty of shade to go for walks, which is nice during the hotter part of the year when you want to take a walk but do not want to fry in the open sun. This area is west of downtown and is close to some of the very best shops in the region, not to mention is culturally diversified. It is also close to major highways, so you can make your way to the Palm Beach International Airport or to somewhere else inside of the state. This is a great neighborhood for professionals and retirees who do not want to settle for a condo.

 

Cityplace

This location is going to give off a nice new urbanism design that you just are not going to find in other locations in and around West Palm Beach. It is made up of hundreds of townhouses, rental units, studio lofts and all sorts of condo towers. This is great if you do not want a home but want something a bit smaller. It has some beautifully renovated spaces that feature historic showpieces dating back from the 20s and feature Spanish Colonial stylings in other buildings throughout the neighborhood. If you want units that overlook the town plaza and other locations around downtown, this really is the spot for you. It might not be the best for families, but if you are a young professional and trying to land a hip spot that doesn’t take you away form the action, this is the place to go.

 

Wellington

If you are looking for a bit more land in your purchase, this is the neighborhood for you. It sounds like a place where horses go to retire because it basically is. There is a total of 57 miles of equestrian trials that can also be used for walking, biking, skating and just about anything else. The Palm Beach Polo and Country Club are located here, not to mention the annual International Horse Shoe and Winter Equestrian Festival take place in this neighborhood as well. It you have a bit more to spend on a new home and want a larger house, this is home for you. The majority of the location is taken up by middle and upper class families, not to mention the especially wealthy.

 

Downtown Delray Beach

Do you want to live as close to the beach as possible? If so, Downtown Delray Beach is the spot for you. There are plenty of old homes scattered throughout the neighborhood and some of the best public beaches in the region as well. It does not matter if you want a condo or your own home, you can find both right here. It is a great spot for singles and there are also plenty of culturally significant activities to take place as well. The Pineapple Grove Art District is here and boasts several different art galleries, cafes, spas and boutiques. It is also close to I-95, in case you need to make a break for it and hop onto the highway. If you find this is a bit too pricey for you, you can make your way to East Boca Raton or downtown Lake Worth for slightly less expensive options that still provide you with excellent options.

 

Jensen Beach

Located right on the water, this is where you come when you want to relax. there is a style of home for you and it is perfect if you want to own a private shop, work on a boat, go out and fish or just do anything else that is based on the water.
