Background

Summary

Scott Jennings is one of the Principals at RunSwitch Public Relations, providing high-level crisis communications, PR, and public affairs counsel to clients. Scott has served at the highest levels of American politics and has earned the respect of the country's most powerful leaders.

“He has a remarkable ability to take complex issues and make them easy to understand. He has an agile mind that operates quickly and critically. He is tough, but he has integrity and a wonderful sense of humor.” - Presidential advisor Karl Rove, PRWeek, October 29, 2007

“…well regarded within the White House…an up and comer…” -The Washington Post, October 8, 2007

Before returning to Kentucky in 2007, Scott served as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Political Director, working directly with Karl Rove. He served as liaison for members of Congress, state and local officials, and key business, political and community leaders nationwide. Since returning to Kentucky in 2008, Scott has served as a campaign adviser to U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, Congressman Brett Guthrie, and numerous other state and local candidates.

Before joining the White House in '05, Scott managed President Bush's re-election campaign in New Mexico, one of only two states to flip blue-to-red between '00 and '04.

Scott's career began as an award-winning journalist for WHAS Radio and then as a political operative. He directed political operations for three successful statewide campaigns: President Bush '00, Senator Mitch McConnell '02, and Governor Ernie Fletcher '03. Scott served as spokesman for the Republican Party of Kentucky and as press secretary to the Republican Majority in Kentucky's state Senate.

A native of Dawson Springs, Ky., Scott graduated with a B.A. in political science from the University of Louisville's McConnell Center for Political Leadership. Scott studied abroad in China, and served as an election monitor in Serbia's 2007 parliamentary elections.
