Bastille on Bishop 2013 – Eating, Drinking & Parking Details!

Jul 14, 2013 No Comments by

Tonight, Sunday July 14, is the 4th Annual Bastille on Bishop. The party starts at 6pm in the heart of the Bishop Arts District. There will be plenty of French food, French beverages, French music and of course, plenty of pétanque!

The food will be sold for cash, and our participating restaurant parters include Bolsa, Boulevardier, Jonathon’s, Nova, Chicken Scratch, Eno’s, Oddfellows, Emporium Pie and Oak Cliff Creperie and the mobile bread baking of Village Baking Company. Each restaurant has created their own dish to serve, inspired by French street food and created right here in Oak Cliff. You’ll be able to choose from sausage sandwiches, coq au vin, duck confit sliders, beignets and more! You’ll want to bring cash to purchase the food from each booth – but we will have ATM machines on site for as long as they have cash available.

The wine, beer and cocktails will be available via token from 4 different bar locations in the district. The tokens are $6 each, and you’ll need to pre-purchase your wine glass to enjoy the festivities. You can pre-purchase your glass at Prekindle and avoid some of the lines at the start of the event. The wine glass is just $10.

Finally, our friends at Methodist Hospital have generously allowed our guests to park in their lot next to the Hitt Auditorium at the intersection of Bishop and Colorado. Spokes Pedicabs will deliver you to the event for a small cash donation – and you don’t have to worry about fighting to find a parking space! Parking will be extremely difficult in the Bishop Arts District – we suggest Oak Cliff residents either walk or ride bikes to the event. And if you are driving then please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways or park illegally. You will be ticketed and towed! Your best bet is to park at Methodist Hospital and take the bike cab to the party!

See you tonight – rain or shine! It’s going to be a glorious cool summer night in Bishop Arts!
