Meddlesome Moth, meet your new landlord: A group of investors that includes the owner of the Joule Dallas hotel and the owners of Highland Park Village have bought a large parcel of property in the Dallas Design District that includes prominent design firms and restaurants such as Meddlesome Moth, Oak and Pakpao.

Headed by Dunhill Partners, the group includes Dunhill's Bill Hutchinson, Joule owner and downtown Dallas kingpin Tim Headington, Ray Washburne and owners of Highland Park Village, and real estate broker Newt Walker.

The property runs 33 acres and includes more than a dozen properties along Hi Line Drive, Oak Lawn Avenue and Stemmons Freeway. Hutchinson told the Dallas Morning News that it was a "natural evolution" from the development in Uptown.

The acquisition includes the Dallas Design Center, home to designers such as ID Collection and George Cameron Nash; the Decorative Center complex at the corner of Oak Lawn and Hi Line, home to showrooms such as Scott + Cooner and Roche Bobois; as well as the three aforementioned restaurants.

The previous owner was Houston-based Lionstone Group, which bought the real estate in 2007 from the Trammell Crow family; Lionstone was responsible for attracting the restaurants and apartment buildings. At least three new apartment buildings totaling more than 1,000 new units are being developed.
