The
Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees is made up of seven board members who
are elected by the citizens of the district to represent the community's
commitment to a strong educational program for the district's children.
Trustees are elected each year in May and serve three-year staggered
terms. Trustees serve without compensation, must be registered voters
and must reside in the district.
Trustees are elected to a specific place on the board (ex. Place 1,
Place 2, etc.) although they represent the entire district as a whole.
Each year after the election is finalized, the Board elects officers
(president, vice president, and secretary) for a one year term.
