The number of Syrian civilians able to escape the brutal war inside Syria risk has declined dramatically, according to a new report by the International Rescue Committee and The Norwegian Refugee Council.
Faced with limited international support and huge strains on their economies, the countries neighbouring Syria are making it harder for refugees to escape Syria. On average more than 150,000 Syrians were able to cross into neighbouring countries each month in 2013. In October this year, the number of new refugees registered by UNHCR fell by 88 per cent to only 18,453.
