The Humane Society of Flower Mound is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a respectful, responsible, and compassionate relationship between animals and people. We work to help animals in need in Flower Mound and the Denton County area.

It's an Adopt-A-Thon weekend at PetSmart! If now is the time to add a new furry member to your family, this is the perfect opportunity to see the wonderful dogs and cats we have available for adoption. We will be at the PetSmart in Flower Mound on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.. To make the process even easier, complete the online application and an adoption counselor will contact you to discuss the best fit for your family!

Love On Wheels in the Spotlight
HSFM's Love on Wheels transport program is being featured in the March/April edition of Animal Sheltering Magazine, a respected publication for animal welfare professionals published by the Humane Society of the United States! We are so proud of the volunteers both with HSFM and our partner Helping Hounds that have made this program such a success! Flamingos are Flocking
Have you seen the flamingos out lately? They might be flocking to your yard soon. Place your order today for graduation, birthdays, father's day, anniversaries, etc. You can place your order for a flamingo flocking by sending an email to flamingos@fmhs.org, call the Flamingo hotline at (972) 874-0807, or by submitting your order by completing the order form. Flockings start at $25!

Find out how you can help the Humane Society of Flower Mound! This 45 minute orientation that starts at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 7:45 p.m. provides you an overview of our history, accomplishments and detailed information on the various activities you can get involved in. We have many volunteer opportunities from hands-on with animals to needing assistance with our general operations. Come learn more about how you can make a difference!
Minimum age requirements while working with animals are as follows:
- TLC - Tender Loving Care (care of animals who are not yet in foster homes): 12-17 yrs old with a parent; 18 yrs old without a parent
- LAP - Luv A Pet (care for cats staying at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
- AAPurr - Adopt A Purr (cat adoption events held the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
- AAP - Adopt a Pet (dog adoption events held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
If you are under 18 years old, a parent will be required to sign paperwork before you can volunteer. We encourage parents to attend, as parents are required to participate in any volunteer efforts that involve animal handling.
