AUSTIN – Allegiant Air announced Wednesday the addition of nonstop service between Austin and Orlando beginning in Feb. 2015.

According to a press release by the City of Austin, the route will operate on Mondays and Fridays.

Flights are scheduled to depart Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) at 7 p.m., arriving at Orlando-Sanford International Airport (SFB) at 10:40 p.m. Return flights will depart Orlando at 7:45 a.m., arriving in Austin at 9:20 a.m.

"More service to a popular area such as Orlando is great news for Central Texas, giving more choices for passengers to fly Austin," said Jim Smith, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Executive Director in the press release. "Allegiant has been successful in Austin from day one, achieving good customer response on its route to Las Vegas."

Allegiant launched nonstop service between Austin and Las Vegas in Oct. 2013. The first flight between Austin and Orlando will be Feb. 13, 2015.
