Police arrest suspect in VIA killing

Donovan Arzola was shot and killed Nov. 12, 2014 by a gunman on a VIA bus near downtown San Antonio. The suspect approached several passengers, attempting to start a confrontation, and then opened fire on Arzola.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on a VIA bus on Tuesday and is in San Antonio police custody.
Officer Douglas Greene, a San Antonio police spokesman, identified the man as Zachary Gonzales.
According to police, the man shot and killed Donovan Rae Arzola, 23, after a brief and unprovoked exchange. The man's female companion was also sought but has not been arrested.
Greene said two tips, one anonymous and the other through Crime Stoppers, helped police arrest the man.
Gonzales was arrested without incident at a home in the 1100 block of Callaghan Road.
Gonzales uttered profanities at the media when asked about the shooting.
He faces a charge of murder.
