What a story.
"The Great Invisible" tells the story of the BP spill through the eyes of men still haunted by it.

Good job today, Canadian media.
This calm, credible CBC newscast shows how to cover a breaking story like sensible adults.

This is horrible.
Gangrene, a bowel obstruction, and delirium tremens killed inmates in the Madison County jail. In 2013.

Fox News? Not so worried.
Rupert Murdoch's businesses lost millions during Superstorm Sandy—and they're warning that climate change could mean more extreme weather.

+chilly d we see the same thing in Iowa. In fact, even the growing zone maps have been updated to reflect the warming. And within another 10 years at the most, they will be adjusted north another "half zone". Heh, I like to ask deniers what political party they think the flora belongs to. They generally get glassy eyed and are unable to respond. I don't press the issue, they need to come to grips with their denial on their own.

This is crazy.
Secretive partisan groups are spending millions to elect their favorite state judges. Can you still get a fair hearing?

Sometimes I wonder why I bother commenting on a lot of posts - but on MY Sites, I try to keep the idiots out as best I can.
I may kill off this G+ Site soon.
I can't seem to stop pictures of "cute" animals and geography getting posted here, DESPITE the idea that it is a serious attempt at a place for sane people to discuss today's issues in our rapidly disintegrating world.
MY apologies to the very few people who do come here and can't avoid the foul languaged idiots who I can only hope are just Trolls - otherwise it seems that it is already too late for Society.

Texas: making it harder for minorities to vote since 1865.
On Saturday, the Supreme Court upheld Texas' harsh voter ID law. The state has been on the cutting edge of minority disenfranchisement since emancipation.

+Richardson Farrier Ah, the sound of privilege.  It doesn't matter to you, right? You've already got yours!  So why should it matter to anyone?

You sound like someone standing at the top of a flight of steps, looking down on people who have difficulty climbing stairs for whatever multiple reasons and saying "C'mon, guys! It's not very tough!  I did it!"

Mother Jones is an award-winning nonprofit magazine that brings you the best independent reporting on politics, news, the environment, and more.

Winner of the 2010 National Magazine Award for General Excellence, MoJo has never shied away from the issues that the commercial media ignore.
