DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas Independent School District board will meet behind closed doors on Thursday to investigate the events that took place on a campus surveillance video. That footage shows Superintendent Mike Miles forcibly removing trustee Bernadette Nutall from a school on October 13.

The executive session is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, specifically to discuss this incident and how to move forward. There is a deep divide between Miles and Nutall.

The trustee had tried to attend a meeting about staff firings at Dade Middle School, a meeting that Miles was leading. He asked Nutall to leave, but she refused. That is when Miles had DISD police officers take her away from the campus. Nutall has since filed a complaint with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office alleging official oppression.

The school board will consider hiring a legal team to conduct a fact-finding investigation into the events of October 13 at the school and leading up to that incident. The meeting could also lead to disciplinary action against either one or both of the individuals involved, if the school board thinks that someone crossed the line.

Trustees may also request a limited state investigation by the Texas Education Agency.
