Clarksville, where a new Hankook Tire facility that will create 1,800 jobs is already under construction, is in the running for two more substantial industrial projects.

According to The Leaf-Chronicle, one of the projects, which is going by the code name "Project Wolverine," is considering 167-acre site in Clarksville and another in Kentucky. Representing an initial investment of $400 million and more than 250 jobs, the company is expected to make a decision by the end of the year.

Additionally, The Leaf-Chronicle reports, a "Project Axle" is considering a 300-acre site in Clarksville. It represents an investment of more than $274 million, and would create more than 1,900 jobs.
