Give to the Max day, the annual donation marathon hosted by GiveMN.org, launched this morning with a revamped website designed to help streamline giving, and avoid last year's hours-long crash.

The Pioneer Press has a preview of Give to the Max and the changes GiveMN has made this year. The site seems to be up and running fine right now, with $3.8 million donated to Minnesota nonprofits, but then the pre-sunrise hours are not where the problems usually start.

GiveMN's site had tech problems both in 2012 and 2013, when its site was offline for hours, frustrating both charities and would-be donors (it raised a record $17 million anyway). The group replaced its tech vendor in April, hiring Austin, Texas-based tech provider Kimbia.
