The federal government is granting North Carolina a waiver that means unemployment taxes won't rise as much as had been anticipated.

— The federal government is granting North Carolina a waiver that means unemployment taxes won't rise as much as had been anticipated, the Charlotte Observer reports. The savings for employers in the 2014 tax year could total $180 million.

— The highest-ranking executive at the Triumph Actuation Systems LLC plant in Clemmons has left the firm, the Winston-Salem Journal reports.

— The founder of Lexington-based ZeekRewards will be arraigned in Charlotte on Thursday, the Charlotte Observer reports. Paul Burks is charged with several crimes, including wire and mail fraud, in connection with what prosecutors say was an $850 million Internet Ponzi scheme.

— International Market Centers, which owns a large amount of furniture showroom space in High Point, has filed for an initial public offering, the High Point Enterprise reports.

— The Sigma Pi fraternity chapter at Elon University has lost its appeal of a three-year suspension for alleged hazing, the Times-News of Burlington reports.

— Josephine's Bistro on Spring Garden Street in Greensboro is adopting a new name, the News & Record reports.
