Sellen Construction is not the developer of a new office planned for the South Lake Union area of Seattle, Sellen President Scott Redman said Wednesday.

"Members of the Redman family own the property and our family is developing it," he wrote in an e-mail. "There are no plans for Sellen to occupy the new development, but Sellen will build it."

Redman was not immediately available to answer other questions about the project, which will have mostly office space, some retail and one penthouse residence.

In an earlier post Wednesday, the Business Journal asked why Sellen Construction is developing an office building at 234 Ninth Ave. N., next to the company's headquarters.

A city board will review the design of the project at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Queen Anne Community Center, 1901 First Ave. W.

We will update this story when additional information about the building becomes available.
