Duncanville football coach Jeff Dicus resigns

Duncanville ISD athletic director Cathy Self-Morgan said Wednesday that football coach Jeff Dicus resigned after seven seasons at Duncanville.

“He just said he’s going to step aside. He’s not sure if he’s going to retire or just resign from this job,” Self-Morgan said. “He’s done a great job here, he just felt he didn’t get them to where we wanted to get them in the last three years.”

Duncanville was 3-7 this season and tied for last place in District 8-6A. Duncanville has missed the playoffs three years in a row, going 11-19 in that span.

Dicus led Lake Travis to the Class 4A Division II state championship in 2007 before taking the Duncanville job. He was 36-37 at Duncanville.
