(Note: Meeting date has been changed to Monday.)
A meeting has been called for Monday by the board of directors over Prime Prep Academy. The charter school, co-founded by former Dallas Cowboys player Deion Sanders, is facing closure by the Texas Education Agency for financial problems and mismanagement.
Superintendent Ron Price has said that the charter would appeal the decision.
Price, a former Dallas ISD trustee, said that the board will be briefed in closed session on the education agency’s decision. He said that Edwin Flores, an attorney working with Prime Prep and also a former Dallas ISD trustee, will also be at the meeting.
Price said there will be no discussion about the possible closure during an open session portion of the meeting. Board members could possibly approve new bylaws and board policies during the open session.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. on Monday at 330 E. Ann Arbor Ave., in Dallas. Click here to read the agenda.
