University Park man is not about to take down his ‘Ebola House’ decorations, says it’s now for charity

James Faulk, the man behind University Park’s so-called Ebola House, will see your outrage and raise you one charitable donation.

After all the too-soons and tsk-tsks following last week’s media coverage, Faulk’s not only not taking down the decorations but upping the ante by offering to give money to Doctors Without Borders every time someone takes a step inside his so-called “E-BOO-LA victim room” on Friday night. Says his note, it will cost a minimum of $1 dollar to enter — “if you dare!!”

A website‘s due up today, to go along with the but-of-course Twitter account that made its bow Saturday. And if Ebola House rubs you the wrong way, Faulk offers another suggested moniker: “Quarantined Townhouse.” His missive to The Dallas Morning News makes it clear, he embraces the nay-saying, insisting his production at the corner of Westchester Drive and Emerson Avenue features “the best, worst or sickest Halloween Decorations in the USA!” The guy’s also toting a pair of brass jack-o’-lanterns: He asks if The News would be interested in sponsoring the house for his good cause.

“An ambulance, forklift and other props” will be added by Friday night, he notes via email. “As you know the news has spread around the world and we’d like to put it to good use and help a great cause! We are NOT in this for any financial gain, unless its [sic] for our charity.”

He signs his missive “James, CDC Trainee #1.”
