Friday night, you can see Fair Park as you’ve never seen it before! Fair Park Sparks will include thousands of sparking lights, music from Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Sugar Ray and Fireworks. Best part is that it is free.

The 4th annual Jack FM and Southwest KIA Throwback Festival is happening Saturday night (June 14). This is the biggest collection of tribute bands anywhere. A bunch of bands on 3 stages all in one day! Check it out at Gexa Energy Pavilion.

Beastro is the Fort Worth Zoo’s annual music and tasting event that supports the Zoo’s local and international wildlife conservation and education efforts …and it is happening Friday evening. This deal will feature the finest area restaurants stationed throughout the Zoo serving sample appetizers, entrées and desserts. In addition to the great food, the event features open bars throughout the park and live music entertainment. Several animal exhibits remain open until sunset. Get your tickets before they sell out!

Get ready to volunteer for a good time Saturday, June 14. That’s when the Volunteer Center of North Texas introduces VOLY.org and kicks-off the largest volunteer recruitment drive in the organization’s history. The free festival is planned from Noon-4 p.m. at Klyde Warren Park with Miss Texas, representatives from the Dallas Mavericks, 40 area nonprofit organizations, music and dance performances and more.

The Elm Street Music & Tattoo Fest continues this weekend (June 13-15) in Deep Ellum. It will involve over 50 tattooers and over 30 bands. Beginning Wednesday night and going through the weekend, the bands will be playing at Trees, Three Links, Dada and Wits End.

The Trinity River Revel is happening this Sunday (June 15) at the Continental Avenue Pedestrian Bridge in Dallas. There will be vintage cars and motorcycles on the new Continental Avenue Bridge Park and bands on the new West Dallas Gateway Plaza. This sounds pretty cool. You can bring your clubs to the pop-up driving range and knock balls packed with wildflower seeds into the river basin.

Here is a chance for you to see a portion of the band Stained. Check out lead singer Aaron Lewis at Billy Bob’s Saturday night.

This guy was on the first record I ever bought. Granted, it probably wasn’t his best work…but the lady in his life at the time asked him to do it and you know how that goes. I can’t promise you that he will do the tune Mockingbird…but he will do a bunch of great tunes. See James Taylor this coming Sunday (June 15) at Verizon.

This show was originally scheduled for August first but it has been scooted up to this Sunday (June 15). If you dig music that is outside the mainstream, check out the Vans Warped Tour at Gexa this Sunday.

Then, next Saturday, June 21st…you can party with the Buffet at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.

This weekend (June 13-15) is Concerts in the Garden time at Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Grab a picnic basket, enjoy the Texas sky and groove to the smooth sounds of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and friends! This series offers a variety of music for every taste, from Star Wars to the Eagles to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, plus fireworks every night and three nights of Old-Fashioned Family Fireworks Picnic on July 2, 3 and 4! Tomorrow night, it is Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue…Saturday night the music will be provided by Faithfully: The Music of Journey and Sunday, it is the UNT One O’clock Lab Band.

Canada has made many musical contributions to the US over the years. Rush…Loverboy…Chilliwack…Saga and of course Triumph. Show you appreciation for our musical Canadian brethren by attending a special acoustic performance with Triumph’s Rik Emmett at The Sanctuary this Saturday night (June 14).
