DTZ is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager who will be managing a facility in the Longwood Medical Area in Boston, MA!

Job Summary
Responsible for the management of integrated facilities management services. The BM directs direct hire trades and subcontractors assigned in accordance with DTZ policies and procedures. Regular monitoring and inspection of the work is expected.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complies with and ensures the compliance of ALL others related to Industrial Safety. Consistently promotes a safe work environment
- Manages the overall activities in assigned buildings or zones
- Maintains/monitors work schedules of designated personnel including the review and approval of weekly payroll timesheets
- Establishes and maintains work performance standards
- Conducts quality assurance checks within buildings and monitors proper use and maintenance of equipment and tools
- Coordinates and controls special project work
- Managers performance of work against assigned budgets, schedules and quality standards
- Participates in ongoing management/technical skill development programs
- Develops employees skills/abilities by evaluation and training
- Maintains effective ongoing customer relations and acts as operations issues, point of contact for building customers
Supervisory Responsibilities
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and performance of assigned staff, subcontractors and supplies. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include coaching and mentoring of employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining assigned employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in
- Facilities Management or Engineering disciplines preferred
- 5 years of experience as a building manager OR 10 years of experience in building maintenance with 2-4 years supervisory experience
- 1-3 years of experience preparing, negotiating and executing contracts for repair or replacement of facility support equipment including oversight and coordination of contracted work in electrical, mechanical and building automation systems
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and develop and implement corrective measures
- Strong teamwork skills for integrated capital improvement project coordination and completion verification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interface with customers, stakeholders and management. Report writing required to document completion status of work and plans for future work projects.
- Available 24/7 for emergency situations and critical off hours maintenance shutdowns and repairs
- Familiar electronic management system or are computer savvy
