A third woman has died of injuries sustained early Sunday in a wreck in Arlington that killed two other women and injured a man.

Martha Perez, 26, was pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Medical Center of Arlington, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.

Perez’s aunt, Linda Rodriguez, said Perez, Alejandra Alvarado, 26, and Alexandra Rodriguez, 19, were out for a night on the town in Arlington late Saturday. She said Perez’s boyfriend lives in Arlington, but he stayed home that night.

About 2 a.m., the women and a male friend were driving home to Fort Worth. At the Interstate 20 service road and Matlock Road, their Chevrolet and a Dodge Avenger collided. The Chevy spun and slammed into a light pole, Arlington police said.

Alvarado was pronounced dead at the scene. Rodriguez died at 4 a.m. at Medical Center of Arlington.

Perez was on life support at the hospital until Wednesday, her aunt said. “They could not do anything,” she said.

Her organs were donated for transplant, her aunt said.

A fourth person in the car, a male who has not been identified, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Perez and Alvarado had known each other since kindergarten, and attended J.P. Elder Middle School and North Side High School together, her aunt said.

“They were just friends hanging out and having fun,” Rodriguez said.

Eldrick Westbrook, 38, of Arlington, the driver of the Dodge Avenger, was in Tarrant County jail Wednesday night on multiple charges with bail set at $120,000.

Westbrook’s speech was slurred, and open alcohol containers were found in his car, said Tiara Ellis Richard, an Arlington police spokeswoman. Witnesses told officers that Westbrook ran a red light, she said.

He was arrested on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault, Arlington police said Monday. Richard said it was possible that with Perez’s death, the assault case would be upgraded.
