Becca Sosa and Chad Barton got married by Wizards of Gore at Double Wide on Halloween

It doesn't get much more metal than a costume party for a metal show at the Double Wide on Halloween night, does it? Well, how about if that metal band is Wizards of Gore, the new incarnation of local legends Rigor Mortis? Or what if there's also a wedding taking place during that concert? Best of all, what if the bride is dressed as Amy Winehouse with a "Rehab" tank top? Yep. That would be it. That would be the most metal thing we can think of.

And what do you know, that's exactly what happened this past Halloween. Local metal fans Becca Sosa and Chad Barton tied the knot at Double Wide and our videographer Sarah Passon was there to catch the special night on film.

It's been an emotional couple of months for the guys in Wizards of Gore. Back in October, they released Slaves to the Grave, the final album that they'd recorded with legendary guitarist Mike Scaccia before his tragic death just before Christmas of 2012. With that album finally seeing the light of day, the remaining members have chosen to carry on under the Wizards of Gore title with a new guitarist, Mike Taylor, and a new name.

Playing the Double Wide on Halloween was a special enough occasion; just looking at the costumes in the video would be entertaining enough. But with Sosa and Barton's wedding thrown in it was a pretty well over-the-top night. Drummer Harden Harrison even officiated the wedding -- because what self-respecting metal drummer doesn't officiate the odd wedding in his free time, right?

Sosa and Barton are true-blue Dallas metal fans. As they explain in the video, they first met a DOWN concert, which of course is ex-Pantera singer Phil Anselmo's primary project these days. And why a Wizards of Gore show? "We love them to death," says Sosa. "It's very fitting."

If you ask us, these newlyweds have a pretty bright future together. Best of luck to you both.
