Agent REAL ESTATE 911 for fracking disclosures

There is a Realtor.Org  conference and I will try to contact each speaker to see if they have a handout in advance on the fracking topic …

Maneuvering the Slippery Slopes of Environmental Pitfalls:

Risk Management & License Law Forum

“Discussions focus on emerging risks and risk management tools related to environmental and sustainability issues. Topics may include hydraulic fracturing (fracking), and floodplain-related issues, Endangered Species Act, overall disclosure related issues and more emerging issues. “

Meet the Speaker(s):

Diane K. Disbrow
Samuel B. Boxerman…… http://us.practicallaw.com/5-521-7563

Ronald Phipps ABR, CRS, e-PRO, GREEN

Hank Lerner, Esq. ……. http://www.parjustlisted.com/new-law-may-affect-transactions-in-marcellus-shale-regions/   3/20/12/  ….When applying for a drilling permit, drillers must now provide specific notices to the owner of the land where drilling will occur, as well as to all neighboring property owners who have a water supply (such as a well) within 3,000 linear feet (more than a half-mile) of the proposed drilling site. The law also requires the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to collect and publish information regarding the chemicals used in fracking fluids, reports of water contamination, and legal/regulatory violations for each producer………buyers might be less likely to purchase properties being drilled by companies with lesser safety records…..if they do not allow producers to conduct pre-drilling water tests to establish baseline data. Ordinarily, water contamination of a well within 2,500 feet of a drill site that occurs within one year of drilling would be presumed to be caused by the gas company. But an owner who refuses pre-drilling tests will lose the benefit of that presumption”

I will post their response  here…if they respond.

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I ran City Council Seat to try to enforce this. I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town, and have become ultra sensitive to pollution since urban drilling has come to Arlington TX. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to the new industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog. My youtube account is KimFeilGood.
