The White House has released a new public service announcement as part of its campaign against sexual assault on campus.

The spot -- set at a college party -- is designed to encourage men to intervene when they see a potential sexual assault happening.

"This isn't a PSA about a sexual assault," says the ad's narrator, actor Jon Hamm. "It's about being the guy who stops it."

The commercials will be played at telecasts of sporting events, before movies in theaters, on gaming consoles, and within social media.

"Bystander involvement can be very important, and oftentimes men underestimate other men's attitudes toward violence," White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett told Buzzfeed in a story about the anti-assault program called "It's On Us."

"They don't understand that other men are opposed to violence too," Jarrett said. "So if they get the sense that it's OK [to intervene] because everyone else around the room feels the same way you do, so the first person who gets up will inspire the next person to get up, and the next person and a next person."
