Anadarko ranked as the Top Workplace among large companies

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. took the top spot in the Houston Chronicle’s Top Workplaces rankings for large companies for the fourth time at a dinner celebration in downtown Houston last week.

The oil and gas giant was one of three energy workplaces to break into the top five of the category ranking companies with 500 or more employees — Plains All American Pipeline was No. 2, and EOG Resources, which was the top rated workplace in 2013, was No. 4.

Anadarko’s employees rated the company for its flexible work hours, its amenity-filled corporate campus and extensive benefits packages, which include offers for continuing education and tuition reimbursement.

The company’s campus in The Woodlands includes perks like a fitness center that’s free for employees and their families, a full-service cafeteria, laundry services, a car detailing workshop and an on-campus doctor.

The Chronicle asked more than 78,000 employees across Houston to rate their workplaces according to categories like opportunities for advancement, pay and benefits and the quality of their bosses.

The list also ranked midsized companies, with 150 to 499 employees, and small companies, with fewer than 150 employees. View all of the honored workplaces at Chron.com.
