Drawn to Action: The Life and Work of Arthur Szyk
By Lauren SmartThe Dallas Holocaust Museum's newest exhibition features the political cartoons of Arthur Szyk, a Polish-Jewish refugee, who came to the US during WWII. His work, which depicted the dictators who tortured the world in the early 20th century, was harsh in its criticism of Hitler and Mussolini and strongly pro-democracy. Drawn to Action: The Life and Work of Arthur Szyk features a selection of his cartoons, “organized around the themes of perpetrators, resistance, propaganda, ode to homeland and warning calls.” See it at the Dallas Holocaust Museum (211 N. Record ST. #100) at 9:30 a.m. Monday or through January 31, 2015. Admission is $8-10. More information at dallasholocaustmuseum.org.
