The Dallas-based company that's bringing a restaurant-movie theater hybrid to Rocklin released more details about the project, originally announced last year, this week.

Here are five things to know about Studio Movie Grill, which will be located in the Rocklin Commons shopping center. It's the company's first California site and 19th location overall.

1. When does it open?

Officials are aiming to open during the week of Dec. 15, just in time for holiday blockbusters such as "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb" and the "Annie" remake.

2. How big is the Rocklin location?

The venue will cover 35,000 square feet, including nine movie screens and 900 seats. The company calls it "an upscale social destination."

3. How will it work?

Studio Movie Grill is billed as "a true marriage of hospitality and lounge experiences." Guests can visit a bar and lounge area to order items before the movie, and are encouraged to "order as much and as often as you like throughout the show," according to the company's website.

Call buttons are available at the seats. There's in-theater service and dining.

4. What kind of food should I expect?

The company's website doesn't yet include a Rocklin menu, but menus from existing locations feature entrees such as coconut shrimp, a pork chop and a steak and gravy sandwich.

5. Can I work there?

Well, you can try. Hiring is underway at the Rocklin location, particularly for servers. The venue is expected to employ more than 250 people.

If you're interested, apply in person at the theater at 5140 Commons Drive from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. You can also apply through the company's website.
