Loretta Lynn is Not Going to Be Attorney General, Sorry

This past Tuesday, election fever spread over the Internet, as it should have, you know, because it was Election Day. Later in the week, Loretta Lynn announced a new album, her first in 10 years, again putting social media in a tizzy.

Well, it seems like streams got a little crossed in the process, as Loretta Lynn for Attorney General became a thing, if ever so briefly, on Twitter, with people (in most cases purposefully) getting the Coal Miner’s Daughter confused with President Obama’s actual expected choice, Loretta Lynch.

It’s easy to see where the similarities came from, and USA Today was kind enough to gather a few choice tweets from the mix-up. “What a career for Loretta Lynn: one of country music’s most accomplished recording artists, and now about to be Attorney General. Congrats,” reads one tweet, while another reads “Such terrible politics from POTUS. If only he had nominated Loretta Lynn to be Attorney General before the election, Grimes might have won.”
