TE Zach Miller Placed On Injured Reserve, Done For Season
(1090 The Fan) – The Seattle Seahawks have placed tight end Zach Miller on the injured reserve, head coach Pete Carroll announced at a press conference Wednesday. The move ends Miller’s season.
Miller underwent surgery on his ankle in September, during the team’s bye week. According to Carroll, the tight end’s ankle did not respond the way the team had hoped. Miller is now expected to have a second surgery.
The Seahawks have tight ends Luke Willson, Cooper Helfet and Tony Moeaki remaining on the roster. Willson and Helfet, both of whom are dealing with injuries, participated in the team’s walk-through practice this week. Carroll said Willson could have a chance to play Sunday and noted that Helfet has a “good chance” to play.
This is the second time this week Seattle has placed a starter on the injured reserve. Nose tackle Brandon Mebane also saw his season end after suffering a torn hamstring versus the New York Giants on November 9th.
Notes: The team has signed LB Allen Bradford to the 53-man active roster; Pete Carroll said that LB Bobby Wagner (toe) may be able to play next Sunday versus the Arizona Cardinals.
