MinuteClinic opens walk-in clinics at four Milwaukee-area CVS stores

MinuteClinic has opened walk-in medical clinics in four Milwaukee-area CVS pharmacy locations and plans to open three more by early 2015.
Woonsocket, R.I.-based CVS said Thursday the clinics are its first in Wisconsin.
The initial four locations are in Menomonee Falls at N83 W15550 Appleton Ave.; Milwaukee at 1650 N. Farwell Ave. and 3860 S. 27th St.; and Waukesha at 1130 W. Sunset Drive.
MinuteClinic said it expects to open a fifth area location in Whitefish Bay in December at 240 E. Hampton Road. Set to open in early 2015 are clinics at CVS locations in Fox Point at 8661 N. Port Washington Road and in Kenosha at 3710 57th Ave.
MinuteClinic locations are open seven days a week with no appointment necessary. The cost for most services starts at $79.
MinuteClinic nurse practitioners specialize in family health care and can diagnose, treat and write prescriptions for common family illnesses such as strep throat and ear, eye, sinus, bladder and bronchial infections.
The clinic staff also can treat minor wounds, abrasions, skin conditions and joint sprains and administer common vaccinations such as influenza, tetanus, pneumonia and hepatitis A and B. The clinics also provide camp, sports and college physicals.
