The Tigers have already started making moves with the GM meetings going on in Arizona.

Wednesday afternoon, it was reported the Tigers re-signed DH Victor Martinez for a four-year $68 million deal.

Wednesday night, they followed it up by trading one of their best prospects for CF Anthony Gose from the Toronto Blue Jays.

And now Thursday morning, CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman reports the Tigers are discussing a trade that would involve catcher Alex Avila.

Avila hit .218 with 11 home runs and 47 RBI. Avila has also battled with concussions throughout the 2014 season.

If the Tigers moved Avila, that would make room for minor league catcher James McCann, who appeared in 12 games for the Tigers in September. McCann hit .295 with 7 home runs and 54 RBI with Toledo in 2014.
