Savings at the pump won't end anytime soon.

Staff Kansas City Business Journal

Consumers are paying less at the pump, and the U.S. Department of Energy predicts those savings will continue into 2015, the Associated Press reports.

Average gasoline prices are below $3, which economists say is like receiving a tax cut. It's the lowest national average since December 2010. If the trend continues, Americans could save $61 billion on gasoline.

The lower pricing has been attributed to an increase in domestic oil production and in fuel-efficient vehicles, among other variables.
