Kona Brewing Co. expanding distribution into Canada

Hawaii-based Kona Brewing Co. is expanding into the Canadian market, starting with three of its craft beer brands.
The company's beers — or, as the company calls them, "liquid Aloha" — will first be available in British Columbia and Alberta.
The company' s beers will be introduced at the Hopscotch Whisky Beer and Spirits Festival on Nov. 21 in Vancouver and will be available in British Columbia and Alberta on Dec. 1.
The company's brand manager, Aaron Martin, said the company is "stoked" to be moving into the Canadian market, which it plans to enter with its Big Wave Golden Ale, Fire Rock Pale Ale and Castaway IPA beers.
Kona Brewing Co.'s beer is available 40 states and 16 countries, and its pubs in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island and on Oahu attract nearly 1 million visitors each year, many of them from Canada.
In July, PBN reported that Kona Brewing Co. is looking to open a pub and restaurant in Kakaako.
