Third Annual Genealogy After Dark Event at Clayton Library

Friday, October 17, 2014, 6-11 p.m. 

In celebration of October as Family History Month, the Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research / Houston Public Library will be sponsoring the “3rd Annual Genealogy After Dark” event at the Clayton Library, 5300 Caroline Street, Houston, TX 77004. This event is free and open to any members of the public who have an interest in genealogy. Various webinars will be offered throughout the afternoon and evening. Clayton Library will be open to registered attendees for research until 11:00pm. 

Clayton Library After Dark Event will include screenings of PBS national 10-part documentary series Finding Your Roots. Airs on TV 8 Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m. September 23 – November 25, 2014

The Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research is an international research collection containing materials for all 50 states and many foreign countries. The collection contains approximately 100,000 books; 3000 periodical titles; 70,000 reels of microfilm; a microfiche collection as well as numerous electronic databases.

 

The Houston Genealogical Forum

The Houston Genealogical Forum (HGF) web content includes information about various research facilities in Houston, vital records history and acquisition information; area cemeteries, churches and newspapers and various databases for researching Houston ancestors.
