A Hyde Park restaurant is getting recognition in Playboy magazine.

The Echo Restaurant in Hyde Park Square was ranked No. 17 on the magazine's list of best breakfasts in the Midwest.

The Echo was credited for maintaining its vibe over the last seven decades as the neighborhood around it has become a "hip boutique district."

"It's still that classic, friendly, neighborhood breakfast bus stop, serving up great home cooking at reasonable prices," the story says. It suggests readers order the Glier's German Greats, which includes two eggs, potato cakes, baked apples, toast and goetta.

The Midwest rankings were part of a larger list compiled by Playboy editors and contributors that includes the top 101 breakfast spots in the nation. To see the full list, click here.
