WALKER, Mary Lynn Mary Lynn Walker born in May of 1938 to Otis & Louise Baird in Fort Worth, passed away on November 9, 2014. Mary married Edwin Walker in 1955 and when Edwin was sent to England in the service, at the tender age of 16, Mary boarded her first plane to New York. From New York she caught the Queen Mary II to meet her husband in England where they would spend the next four years. Upon returning home the family settled back in Texas. Mary was fond of everything British after her time abroad, including British TV shows like Sherlock Holmes. As luck would have it, both of Mary and Edwin's children were born on the same day three years apart. Her family remembers her as a loving mother, and wonderful wife. Mary's easygoing spirit was well received by family and friends. She enjoyed working for Prestonwood Country Club the Hills for over 25 years and spoke highly of the members she befriended there. When she found spare time on her hands, Mary loved to garden and cook for her family. She enjoyed spending time with them and watching her family grow and flourish. Holidays brought much joy into her life. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 55 years, Edwin. Those left to cherish her memory include, son, Steve Walker and wife Lisa, daughter Suzanne Finley Keller and Husband Jack, grandchildren, Jessica Gottschalk, Katie Walker and Jordan Walker, brother, James Baird, extended family and many dear friends, and her Constant companion, Mackie, Mary's loyal border collie. Graveside service: 2 pm Friday at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11:30 am-1:30 pm Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
