WEINBERG, Evelyne T. Age 93, of Mendota Heights, formerly of Dallas and Short Hills, NJ, died surrounded by her family on November 11, 2014. Predeceased by beloved husband, Mark; parents, Esther and Sam Turner; brother, Charles; and sister, Jeanne. Survived by son, Bill (Mary) Weinberg; and daughter, JoAnn (Eric) Pasternack; grandchildren, Aaron Taurog (Leah), Becky Taurog, Ethan Pasternack (Siobhan Rix), Esther Pasternack (Greg Clark), and Danny Weinberg; five great-grandchildren; and special friend, Re'ema Absey. Spunky Ev was a singer of songs, reader of books, solver of word puzzles, aficionada of the arts, world traveler, knitter, life-long learner, gracious hostess, and baker of wonderful desserts. She was famous for being a feminist pioneer in her childhood synagogue and for climbing Mt. Sinai wearing high heels. After a career at Saks, she became a "professional volunteer." Beautiful, enthusiastic, extroverted, witty, a fabulous dresser, and always the lady, Ev will be sorely missed by her friends and family. May her memory only be for a blessing. Graveside service 4:00 p.m. THURSDAY at Sparkman Hillcrest 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hasdassah, NCJW, or a preferred charity.
