DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Quite a few Dallas Area Rapid Transit train passengers in Richardson lost their seats on Thursday morning after a problem with a power line stopped the cars unexpectedly. It was definitely not a good day for this to happen, as a winter chill dropped temperatures below freezing in the early morning hours.

The issue created challenges for DART travelers all over the DFW area, particularly between Richardson and Plano.

Buses were called in to get passengers to their destinations.

Still, some commuters had to wait in the cold for more than 30 minutes before the buses could arrive. “It’s been a cold morning but, I don’t know, there are a lot of delays,” said DART passenger Marcus Everett.

“Just part of my day,” said passenger Roy Beavers. “I’m used to riding the trains and it works for me. These delays are tolerable.”

Workers had to brave the cold weather and repair the power line above the DART train track. Officials are not sure how the line was damaged. But the delays are now over and trains are moving on schedule once again, as crews were able to fix the problem.
