100 Favorite Dishes, No. 47: Banh Mi From Nammi

Don't forget the pâté.
To prepare for this fall's Best of Dallas® 2014 issue, we're counting down (in no particular order) our 100 Favorite Dishes. If there's a dish you think we need to try, leave it in the comments, or email me.

It's common knowledge that the best banh mi sandwiches are found in the suburbs. Rent is cheap in towns like Richardson and you can only do so much selling $3 sandwiches. The problem is, getting out to the burbs can be a chore if you live in or around downtown, and banh mi cravings stop for nothing.

Enter Nammi Cruisin' Vietnamese Fusion, one of the first, and undoubtedly most successful food trucks to cruise the streets of Dallas. And the only food truck in the area to bring the banh mi to you.

You'll often find the light blue truck parked beside Klyde Warren Park, slinging rice bowls and tacos that feature Vietnamese flavors out the window at breakneck speed. But if you've had the banh mi here, you know this classic sandwich is the way to go. Stick with the grilled pork for best results and be sure to request the pâté when you order. You'll be left with a bland sandwich otherwise.

But I thought La Me was your favorite Banh Mi. Will there be a third before it's over?
