The state announced a settlement today with Walgreens to pay customers who were led to believe in 2010 and 2010 that their flu shots would be free, but instead received bills in the mail from their insurer, the NYS Empire Plan, which covers current and former state employees.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said an investigation revealed that about 3,000 customers were misled by Walgreens that the NYS Empire Plan covered flu shots at Walgreens’ pharmacy.
