Mississippi State and Florida State held on to the top two spots in the second edition of top 25 rankings from the College Football Playoff released Tuesday. As expected, Oregon moved into the all-important fourth spot.

With the previous week's No. 3 and No. 4 teams -- Auburn and Ole Miss -- playing last Saturday, the Ducks knew they would likely break into the top four with a convincing win over Stanford, and they did just that. The playoff spots now include representatives from the Pac-12, ACC and SEC after including three SEC teams and the Seminoles when the rankings were first released last week.

The Tigers remained at No. 3 after edging the Rebels and are still the rankings' highest-rated one-loss team. Alabama at No. 5 and TCU at No. 6 will look to move up with huge games this week vs. new No. 16 LSU and No. 7 Kansas State, respectively. KSU, Michigan State, Arizona State and Notre Dame rounded out the top 10.

With last week's No. 23 East Carolina falling out of the rankings following its loss to Temple, no teams from the "Group of 5" conferences were included in the committee's rankings. The highest-ranked such team in the committee's final rankings -- or just outside of them, if it comes to it -- will receive an automatic bid to one of the six bowls in the playoff rotation.

The complete College Football Playoff top 25 rankings (as of Nov. 4):

The first College Football Playoff Championship Game will be held in Cowboys Stadium January 12, 2015.
