  Dallas Fed Report Finds Texas Leads in Job Creation at All Pay Levels
  A recent report from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas noted that Texas experienced more job growth at all pay levels than any other state in the nation from 2000 to 2013. The highest rate of job growth in Texas occurred in the upper half of the pay scale.

  Gov. Rick Perry highlighted important trade opportunities between Texas and Australia at the grand opening of the Queensland Government North America Trade and Investment office in Houston, which will serve as the Australian state's dedicated office for further developing international trade and investment with the U.S. and Texas. Queensland's trade office was previously located in Southern California. The governor was joined by Queensland Premier Campbell Newman and Trade and Investment Commissioner to North America David Camerlengo.

  Wallet Hub: Texas Cities “Impressive Pack of Bountiful Job Markets”
  Texas cities dominated Wallet Hub's recent ranking of the best U.S. cities for jobs, with five Texas cities listed in the top 10. Fort Worth was recognized as the top city for job seekers. Arlington ranked fourth, Dallas fifth, Austin sixth, Houston 10th. Corpus Christi nearly cracked the top ten, ranking 12th on the list.

  Gov. Rick Perry today released the following statement regarding Texas' seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropping to 5.7 percent in January 2014, down from 6.0 percent in December 2013.

  Texas Wins Site Selection Magazine’s 2013 Governor’s Cup
  Texas has won Site Selection Magazine's Governor's Cup for 2013, the fifth time the Lone Star State has received the award under Gov. Rick Perry's leadership. The award is given annually to the state with the most new and expanded corporate facilities announced over the year. Texas has previously won the Governor's Cup in 2004, 2005, 2010 and 2012.

  Texas has again been ranked the number one exporting state in the nation by the U.S. Census Bureau, making it the 12th consecutive year Texas has held this position. The state's export revenues for 2013 amounted to nearly $279.7 billion, up 5.4 percent from the previous year and outpacing U.S. export growth.

  Texas Sees Continued Job Growth
  Texas remains a national leader in job creation, adding 43,800 new jobs in two months according to data released by the Texas Workforce Commission last week. The unemployment rate in October fell to 6.2 percent, declining for the third consecutive month and well below the national rate of 7.3 percent. From October 2012 to October 2013, the state added a total of 267,400 new jobs.
