Daylight savings ends this weekend and State Fire Marshal Ray Lambert reminds all North Dakotans that when the clocks change, it’s a good time to change the batteries and test the smoke alarms in your home. “In less than three minutes a home can be totally engulfed in fire. Working smoke alarms provide early warning detection, allowing more time to escape a fire,” said Lambert.

STENEHJEM URGES CONGRESSIONAL SUPPORT OF LEGISLATION TO PREVENT ONLINE SEX TRAFFICKING OF CHILDREN

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem today urged members of the US Senate Judiciary Committee to support legislation that would help prevent children from being trafficked on the Internet.
Stenehjem joined 52 other attorneys general urging members of the Senate Judiciary Committee for their support of the Stop Advertising Victims of Exploitation Act (SAVE) Act (S. 2536), which would provide more oversight of websites that facilitate “adult services,” such as Backpage.com.

BCI AGENT AND FORENSIC SCIENTIST RECEIVE NATIONAL RECOGNITION-
Multi-jurisdictional team honored by US Department of Justice

A BCI drug agent and a forensic scientist with the Attorney General’s Crime Laboratory have received further national recognition for their roles in the multijurisdictional investigation “Operation Stolen Youth.” BCI Special Agent Steve Gilpin and Crime Laboratory Forensic Scientist Charlene Keller received notification of the honor earlier this week. “Special Agent Gilpin and Ms. Keller are exceptional individuals, hard-working and dedicated state employees, and I am very proud to say they work for the Office of Attorney General,” said Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem.
