When Microsoft first announced plans to open a brand-new store in NorthPark Center, the technology company was mum on the details. Now, in addition to naming an opening date of Saturday, November 8, Microsoft has revealed who will be headlining the store's first concert.

What's that? Computer stores don't normally have opening concerts. Well, there's a first time for everything, and country music star Tim McGraw will welcome Microsoft to NorthPark with a 2 pm show. The Band Perry will open for him at 1.

You can't buy tickets for the concert, but those wishing to win a spot can line up beginning at 9:30 am Saturday outside the store (located on the first floor between Nordstrom and Macy's). The first 1,500 people in line will receive a pair of tickets and be entered into a drawing to meet McGraw. Only 100 lucky people will get that honor.

Microsoft has designed its stores to mimic Apple's. Open display tables feature fully functioning products. There's even an "Answer Desk," a less-dressed up version of Apple's so-called "Genius Bar."

Microsoft will offer a variety of products and software in-store at NorthPark, including Windows 8.1 PCs, tablets, Windows Phones, Xbox One and Microsoft Office 365.

Before the concert begins, customers can participate in a host of giveaways and promotions, including the ability to purchase a Toshiba Encore tablet for just $99 (limit one per customer).
